Like many other Lemon-species, this species has a strong citrus scent that many people describe as sour, moist and skunky, but also fresh and sweet. Others compare the taste and smell of the variety with candy with a strong lemon flavour. This is probably due to the relatively high concentrations of limonene that are present in this species. The taste resembles the smell, which makes for a delicious smoking or evaporation experience.

Effects
Because this species is Sativa-dominant it possesses the uplifting effects that are so typical for most Sativa-species. There is a strong mind-high that is often described as heavily psychedelic. There is also an increase in energy levels, creativity and motivation that can be useful if you want to get a lot done. The effects of the species are often described as optimistic, euphoric and alert, and one is able to share a sense of well-being. These effects usually last two to three hours and then give way to a more relaxed yet energetic, physical high. Because of the strong stimulating effects of this strain, it is not recommended to use just before going to sleep as it can keep you awake.

Yield and growth
Lemon Haze cannabis seeds generally flower within eight to nine weeks, depending on how they have been grown and how well they have been cared for. If the plants are grown outdoors you can harvest the buds around mid-October. Indoor yields are usually in the range of 425 – 475 grams per square metre, or from 150 grams per plant. When grown outdoors it generally produces 450 – 500 grams per plant, but harvests of 1,000 grams per plant have also been reported. Condition is, however, that the plants are well cared for. The plants reach indoors between 80 and 140 centimetres, and outdoors between 130 and 170 centimetres.

The buds produced by the plant are often large and elongated and have a beautiful lime green carpet with golden-yellow shades that seem to enhance the lemony goodness of the species. As with most Sativas, the buds are loose and airy and covered with a generous amount of red hairs and THC-rich trichomes that seduce the senses.

Genetics and potency
Lemon Haze is a hybrid of Lemon Skunk and Amnesia Haze; two Sativas with a prominent lemon flavour and an aroma with its own characteristics. The plant has one of the highest THC levels at about 25%; the CBD content is about 0.88%. The strain is so potent that it won the 2008 High Times Cannabis Cup, a fact which greatly increased its popularity.
