Oceandrums are widely used in Sound Meditations. Of all instruments, Oceandrums are often the most appreciated by spectators. With an ocean drum you can mimic the sound of the sea. A small ocean drum gives the effect as if you are lying on the beach, and the bigger the ocean drum the more sound it gives. A large oceandrum gives the effect as if you are on a boat in the middle of the sea. A guided meditation can take you on a journey, so that you are walking on a far beach, while in reality you are lying on a meditation mat on the ground. The same happens when we use sounds during a meditation. With an ocean drum we can really get the feeling of happiness as if we are lying on the beach or that we are on a boat at sea or that we are swimming. Just like the Zaphir’s and Koshi’s they have a soothing effect on children.

Oceandrums come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes you can make them yourself, or buy a homemade one. Then they are often nicely painted. We sell ocean drums that are produced in series, but YES they are handmade and come from Pakistan. They consist of a wooden frame, over which two hides are stretched. The drum thus created is filled with small balls. And when we let those balls roll over the skins, the rustling sound of the sea is created. It is very easy to make little or a lot of sound with the drum. Just by moving more or less with the drum.
